COMMUNITY RESEARCH NETWORK

Central to all our work is being able to understand what is really going on in the local communities of which we are part and in the everyday lives of local people.

We do this by trying to make sense of the hundreds of daily interactions with people through the provision of services in our buildings, by supporting local authority consultations, by working with local health bodies, by supporting listening events such as Finding Our Voice, by conducting our own surveys and by collaborating with groups and organisations from across all sectors to really get to the heart of what makes our communities tick.

Examples include:

our survey of local people during the first phase of  Innovate UK’s national Community Research Network Programme which asked people what they needed to lead a good life and received over 200 responses, our series of Finding Our Voice events as part of the Seechange Programme to reduce health inequalities (notes of the events can be found here), our work with Healthwatch North Yorkshire to better understand young adults’ experiences of accessing healthcare and our collaboration with North Yorkshire Council’s consultation on its Long-Term Plan for Towns which generated around 500 additional responses.

We are always interested in finding out more and supporting other with their research so if you’ve got an idea that you would like to explore please get in touch or
