Open seven days per week, The Street offers a thoughtful range of activity spaces alongside office accommodation aimed at not-for-profits and charitable organisations.

Arguably one of Whitby’s most successful capital regeneration projects has seen a once underused single storey Play Centre transformed in a modern, accessible multi-use building.

Since 2008, Green Lane Centre have provided community space, training rooms and business accommodation.

OUR ROOMS

COMMUNITY ROOM

Our Community Room holds up to 50 people and can be used for exercise classes, exhibitions, large meetings and training events.

TRAINING ROOM

Our Training Room holds up to 20 people and lends itself to meetings, training sessions and smaller events.

WORKSPACE

Our workspaces range in size from 16.5m² to 72m². The rental includes all utilities and communal cleaning.

Green Lane Centre offers 24hr access, 365 days a year.

All spaces can be hired by the hour, session or day.

After over a year of campaigning and negotiating, the trusteeship of the Hungate Centre transferred to CaVCA who will act as custodians of this well-loved community facility in perpetuity, ensuring the older people of Pickering have a social space they can call their own.

Everyone welcome, whether experienced or beginner.

Help is on hand for all types of Needlework and Lace projects

Pickering WI

Meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7.30 pm.

Activities include guest speakers, crafting and a friendly chat over a cup of tea

Pickering Hub of Ryedale Community Foodbank

16.00 to 18.00 every Thursday

We provide food for local people in need by distribution of donations from the community and top this up by purchases using cash donations and grants.

The Foodbank is run entirely by volunteers who collect the food, register it, place in storage and pack food parcels ready for collection.

To be eligible for a food parcel you need to be referred by a referral agency (CAB, NYC, Next Steps, Surgery, Schools, Churches etc.) but if you are in need and you turn up at the Hungate Centre without a referral we will do our best to provide a food parcel and signpost you to relevant agencies.

We try to provide a warm and welcoming environment for anyone who attends.
