Circular Garden, circular world – welcome to our Community Mosaic

On Sunday 21st September we were honoured to attend the unveiling of our community mosaic in the Street’s Community Garden.

Over fifteen months in creation, with over 80 community members involved, artist Gabrielle Naptali’s beautiful community mosaic has been finally unveiled in the Street garden amidst a gathering of local people.  The artwork reflects the vibrancy and unity of the community garden at The Street.  Each piece of the mosaic tells a story, embodying the spirit of togetherness and the importance of green community spaces in Scarborough.

The project was commissioned by Darren Mancrief of GROW Scarborough and made possible thanks to the generous support of the National Lottery Community Fund’s Awards for All programme.

The mosaic is more than just art – it is a lasting symbol of what can be achieved when community and creativity come together.  It represents diversity, nature, place and planet and above all there power of community.  We are honoured that this piece will remain in our garden as a permanent representation do the positive actions of local people and the beauty of the natural world.
