CaVCA’s Good to Grow project is working with local groups and individuals in and around Scarborough to explore how we can help more people to start growing food and how we can help those who already grow food to grow more. Please help us by completing this short survey. It should take no longer than 10 minutes of your time and your response will be enormously helpful.
Scarborough is home to some fantastic community food growing groups and projects including From our Garden to our Table, GROW Scarborough, St Martin’s Food Garden, Stepney Hill Eco Project, and the kitchen garden at the Gallows Close Centre. We also have hundreds of people who grow food on allotment sites and in gardens, as well as countless others who grow produce in backyards, on balconies, on window sills and in window boxes. There are also many people who might like to grow food but just need a little help.
Growing food brings us together, is good for our health, benefits the climate and nature, and makes us more resilient as people and as communities. We want to find out what more could be done to increase the number of people growing food in Scarborough and to increase the amount of food we grow for ourselves as a community. Please join us in our work.
Good to Grow is funded by the Communities Innovating Yorkshire Fund (CIYF) – a commissioning programme delivered by the Yorkshire Policy Innovation Partnership (YPIP) Policy Innovation Partnership (YPIP). YPIP is a regional project focused on academic, policy and community collaborative research on place based inclusive growth and sustainable living for informed decision-making.
